Daniel T. Smith was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Daniel has lived in Stapleton, Mullen, North Platte, Loup City, Callaway, Kearney, Columbus, and Lincoln, Nebraska. Also, Columbus, Montana; Decatur, Illinois; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Razgrad, Bulgaria and most recently Lincoln, Nebraska. Daniel graduated from Kearney High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an engineering degree.
Daniel always enjoyed sketching, but began oil painting after he took a class in October 2017 with, the great Nebraska artist, Todd Williams. Since that time he has created over 100 oil paintings. Daniel’s preference is painting in oils, in a realism style, using brushes and palette knives on canvas panels of varying sizes.
Daniel is a member of Arrow Artist club in Broken Bow, Nebraska and has had his work selected to compete in ANAC (Association of Nebraska Art Clubs) Annual Art Show since 2017. He has also competed and placed at the Nebraska State Fair on numerous occasions.
Daniel’s work is/has been on exhibit at The Burkholder Project (Lincoln, NE), Fine Arts on 5th (Malvern, IA) and Bryan Memorial Gallery (Lincoln, NE).
