My work dissects how trauma embeds itself in the body, and the ways in which chronic illness and emotional history are often intertwined. These works are not just reflections of struggle, but also an effort to educate, give form to the invisible, and relate with other chronically ill individuals who feel misunderstood.
I am currently developing a series that delves deeper into my experience as an individual living with chronic fatigue. This series reflects the struggles of living with Narcolepsy with cataplexy, an incurable condition that remains widely misunderstood; my hands have become tools to articulate what words cannot express. Through the use of metaphors and recurring motifs such as sheep, bedrooms, and liminal environments, I aim to portray the fatigue, hallucinations, and distorted reality that characterize my daily life. By using visual metaphors and surreal settings, I want to simulate the Hypnagogic state, never-ending fatigue, and the emotional fragmentation that often accompany invisible illness.
