Patricia Scarborough

Patty, as she is known to her friends, works out of her home studio. Most days are spent staring out the window, wondering about shapes, shadows, colors and atmosphere, and how those enigmatic elements weave themselves into what we believe we see.

“More than painting scenes of nature and its seasons, I am dealing with regeneration using the oceanic movement of grasses stained by shadows shifting smoothly over and under the surface.  These are touchstones for life and death, birth and aging, failure to triumph.”
